About the Role

As a Middle School English Inclusive Learning Teacher, you will be student-facing the majority of the day, working alongside a co-teacher to deliver content and instruction. You will collaborate with your grade team and instructional leadership to develop curriculum, provide high-quality instruction, manage student progress including IEPs, foster a positive classroom culture, and engage in continuous improvement. The goal is to prepare students with the skills, character, and well-being to excel academically and lead their communities.

Responsibilities

Deliver content and instruction to all students in class(es) alongside a co-teacher.
Collaborate with grade team and instructional leadership team.
Internalize and develop curriculum.
Provide high-quality instruction.
Track and measure student progress.
Manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) of scholars.
Create a positive classroom and school culture.
Engage in reflection and continuous improvement.
Prepare students with skills, strength of character, and emotional well-being.
Demonstrate successful partnership with classroom co-teacher and utilize multiple co-teaching models.
Embody and effectively model core values for students.
Set ambitious goals based on backwards planning, demonstrating locus of control, and aligned with an overall vision for student success.
Demonstrate deep knowledge of content and effective pedagogy.
Set clear expectations and institute routines to establish and maintain a purposeful, supportive, and fun learning environment.
Build a classroom community where restorative practices are actively modeled and used.
Demonstrate a Team First mindset through proactive contributions.
Advance practice through reflection, development opportunities, and participation in the professional community.
Actively engage families and community members.

Requirements

Minimum of three years of experience in relevant educational positions.
Hold yourself to high professional and ethical standards.
Enjoy and/or have experience working with diverse populations of students and communities.
Believe that every student can and will learn when provided with a quality education.
Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of traditionally at-risk students.
Willingness to be flexible in your role and adapt to school and student needs.
Commitment to continuous improvement and learning through professional development.

Skills

Ability to speak, write, and understand Spanish fluently (preferred).
