About the Role
The Learning Experience - Tuckahoe is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Preschool Teacher to lead our 3-year-old classroom. This role involves creating a nurturing and engaging preschool environment where children build early academic skills, friendships, confidence, and a love of learning.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily routines and learning experiences in the 3-year-old Preschool classroom
- Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Create engaging activities supporting early literacy, math, science, creativity, and social-emotional development
- Encourage language development, independence, problem-solving, and positive peer relationships
- Provide consistent classroom routines and positive behavior guidance
- Observe children's development and maintain required classroom documentation
- Prepare classroom activities and learning materials
- Build strong relationships and communicate regularly with families
- Guide and collaborate with classroom support teachers
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and engaging classroom
- Follow applicable New York childcare health, safety, and licensing requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education
- CDA credential
- High school diploma or GED plus at least 5 years of relevant early childhood experience
- Previous professional preschool, daycare, or early childhood classroom experience strongly preferred
- Experience leading a classroom of 3-year-old children is a plus
