About the Role
NewsNation is seeking a skilled Part Time Studio Steadi-Cam Operator to support the creation of high-quality video content for live Cable News Broadcasts. The ideal candidate is efficient, creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working under daily news deadlines with flexible availability.
Responsibilities
- Listen to director’s commands and react swiftly and accurately for correctly positioning and framing shots including the X/Y axis and balancing the camera.
- Carry and wear up to 50lbs combined.
- Make smooth on-air moves.
- Proficiently operate broadcast equipment, including setup, programming, and troubleshooting the Steadicam system and maintenance of vests and related equipment.
- Communicate and document effectively and concisely to the rest of the team.
- Be self-sufficient with a press-on-regardless attitude.
- Work all day parts (mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays) with overtime as situations demand.
Requirements
- Five plus (5+) years of experience in a fast-paced live television environment.
- Proficiency in Steadi-Cam systems.
- Ability to carry/wear up to 50lbs for an extended period.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and think quickly to resolve issues and find workarounds.
- Membership in IBEW Local 1212.
