About the Role

Manage logistics activities to meet business fulfillment requirements while reducing transportation costs. This role involves managing outbound domestic and international logistics, collecting and communicating shipment information, providing logistics support, and obtaining optimal transportation rates.

Responsibilities

Manage logistics activities to meet business fulfillment requirements and reduce transportation costs.
Identify and capture savings and added value opportunities.
Research and recommend optimal transportation modes, routings, equipment, and frequency.
Complete all compliance documentation for export processes and domestic shipments.
Execute domestic and international small parcel shipments as needed, responding to expedited orders.
Verify picks for correct ship-to, serial numbers, and shipment method; print packing slips.
Confirm shipments scheduled for pickup have left the facility and report discrepancies.
Manage compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and other transport regulations, including permitting, over-dimensional, and Hazmat.
Create and review hazmat and dangerous goods documentation for compliance with regulations.
Provide Dangerous Goods classification and advise on restrictions and regulations.
Manage compliance with International Air Transportation Association (IATA), DOT, and other global transport regulations.
Maintain online tracking and metrics tools.
Eliminate or minimize risk exposure for Allyn and customers.
File and follow through on all freight claims.
Train new employees and clients as needed.
Participate in client-offered training to support functional competencies.
Provide excellent customer service to Allyn customers.

Requirements

Warehouse or shipping experience required.
TMS Experience preferred.
Ability to resolve client and carrier issues with ease.
High proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Ability to analyze data to improve processes within the warehouse.
