About the Role

Maintain daily operations of food, beverage, and general storerooms, ensuring accurate inventory control, proper storage, and timely distribution of goods to support seamless hotel operations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, and issue food, beverage, and general products.
  • Inspect and unpack merchandise, then stock and store it.
  • Organize storeroom inventory by group as directed.
  • Price and date groceries and canned goods, adhering to FIFO rotation.
  • Adhere strictly to storeroom operating hours.
  • Fill General Storeroom requisitions.
  • Assist in organizing storerooms by placing merchandise in designated areas.
  • Participate in end-of-month inventories.
  • Prevent unauthorized access to storerooms and verify requisition authorization.
  • Inspect refrigeration units, report temperature deviations, and note perishable quality deterioration.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all storerooms.
  • Follow Omni Hotels operating procedures and local health regulations.
  • Maintain a list of out-of-stock or undelivered items for follow-up.
  • Notify manager of "dead stock" items.
  • Ensure all requisitions are completed and closed out.
  • Check and lock all cooler and storeroom doors before end-of-day departure.
  • Comply with Omni standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Inform manager of any "shorts" on requisitions.
  • Follow closing storeroom procedures, including securing doors and managing logs.
  • Monitor vendor ability to provide timely and consistent quality according to specifications.

Requirements

  • Experience in purchasing/receiving and/or previous hotel experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated self-starter focused on quality, organization, cleanliness, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment as a team player.
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • Ability to read requisitions and complete orders.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to input information accurately and efficiently into computer systems.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information, data, and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers.
  • Must be service-oriented and possess a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Must be effective in handling workplace problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them.
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Provide strong customer service to internal and external clients.
  • Move, bend, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to push, pull, and place objects up to 75 pounds without assistance.
  • Stand, walk, or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Ability to squat, bend, and reach overhead.
  • Requires repetitive motion, including utilizing telephone/computer for an extended period or for an entire shift.
