About the Role
As a Data Engineer II at Honeywell Aerospace, you will develop and refine data pipelines for efficient information flow, focusing on creating scalable solutions for real-time data delivery and automated processing. You will collaborate with Finance stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable data products.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines from varied sources into Snowflake, ensuring reliability, observability, and recoverability.
- Develop transformations using SQL and Python in Dataiku and Databricks to produce trusted finance data marts and tables.
- Automate and orchestrate workflows in Dataiku/Databricks, implementing robust logging and monitoring.
- Enable Tableau analytics by publishing performant Snowflake views and semantic layers, optimizing query patterns.
- Implement data quality and governance measures, including validation rules, reconciliations, lineage documentation, and access controls.
- Gather requirements and collaborate with Finance/FP&A, Accounting, and business analysts to translate metrics into data models and pipelines.
- Tune performance using Snowflake features, clustering strategies, and cost-efficient warehouse configurations.
- Manage code in Git, contribute reviews, unit/integration tests, and promote changes through development environments.
- Convert manual processes into automated, auditable pipelines and prototype utilities in Python.
Requirements
- US Citizen status
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of professional data engineering experience.
- 2+ years with Snowflake (data modeling, SQL performance, warehouse administration).
- Advanced SQL and practical Python skills for data processing and automation.
