About the Role

Georgeson has a unique opportunity for someone to contribute their talents and strengths as a Senior Managing Director, Account Executive. The Senior Managing Director is to be a trusted advisor to our issuer clients, delivering advisory services for a variety of corporate events. This is a client-facing role requiring effective engagement with corporate advisors, senior executives, institutional investors, and others within the corporate governance industry.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client engagements.
  • Close prospective clients and enhance revenue opportunities with existing clients.
  • Deliver high levels of client satisfaction by anticipating client needs and communicating effectively.
  • Collaborate effectively with other advisors retained by clients, including lawyers, investment bankers, and compensation consulting firms.
  • Increase the firm’s overall revenue and profitability by pursuing new business, including contacting companies, attorneys, and investment bankers to secure new corporate clients.
  • Secure new corporate clients, including proxy fight and M&A-related solicitation opportunities.
  • Possess an expert level of knowledge regarding the proxy and corporate actions industries and related technical mechanics.
  • Communicate confidently with clients, prospects, and industry participants.
  • Handle numerous client engagements simultaneously.
  • Manage client deliverables.
  • Recommend actions to improve the results of shareholder meetings.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Develop their book of business, with outperformance being rewarded.
  • Provide data-driven analytical advice.
  • Lead small teams that service individual clients.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree, and preferably an MBA or JD.
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in corporate actions, corporate governance, stewardship, or in a related legal or investor relations position.
  • Established relationships with corporate advisors.
  • Current knowledge of SEC regulations and state laws regarding shareholder meetings.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance issues.
  • Understanding of proxy advisory firms and institutional investors.
  • Ability to handle numerous client engagements simultaneously.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Articulate communication.
  • Ability to maintain poise during challenging, high-stress events such as mergers and proxy contests.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with senior executives, outside law firms, investment bankers, and institutional investors.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Comfort working in a team environment.
  • Experience with CRM like Salesforce.
  • Experience using outbound sales enablement tools to generate leads and increase pipeline conversion.
  • Requires moderate travel.
  • Requires work outside of standard business hours.
