About the Role
ARISE is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Baldwinsville, near the Radisson community. This is a backup staff position with shifts available daily from 8am to 4pm and 4pm to 10pm. Applicants will be trained and added to a list of backup staff, called when an open shift is available. The role involves assisting an individual with a physical disability who uses an electric wheelchair with daily activities, maintaining her independence at home and in the community.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with Personal Care
- Light housekeeping
- Meal preparation
- Shopping
- Taking her to some medical appointments and other activities in the community
- Training shifts on transfers using an electric sit-to-stand/track system
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy
