Seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist a 34-year-old male in the Syracuse, NY area with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and participation in community outings. The role involves supporting socialization, providing verbal reminders, and assisting with personal care as needed. The individual enjoys activities such as basketball, working out, reading, and playing video games.
Responsibilities
- Assist with dressing appropriately for community outings.
- Provide verbal reminders for personal hygiene.
- Support overall personal hygiene.
- Assist with participation in activities.
- Support interaction with peers and socialization.
- Provide personal care when needed.
- Accompany individual on walks and to the gym.
- Travel to different locations.
- Learn about different movements and facial expressions as a form of communication.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
- New York State Driver's license required.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Proof of auto insurance required.
- Acceptable driving record required.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
