About the Role
As a Design Engineer, you’ll transform client ideas into build-ready AV system designs. You will be the technical backbone from concept through execution support, partnering with various teams to ensure projects are smart, buildable, and aligned with CTI standards.
Responsibilities
- Design complete commercial AV systems including conference rooms, boardrooms, training spaces, and enterprise collaboration environments.
- Create AV signal flow diagrams, system drawings, and documentation using Visio and/or CAD.
- Review project scope, proposals, and kickoff information to clarify technical requirements and assumptions.
- Select AV equipment and define system architecture aligned with CTI standards, constraints, and budgets.
- Collaborate with Sales, Project Managers, BIM/CAD teams, architects, consultants, IT, and electrical stakeholders for design coordination.
- Provide technical direction and quality assurance on drawings for field execution.
- Support execution by answering field/programming questions, clarifying procurement, and updating designs due to site conditions or product availability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience designing commercial AV systems.
- Strong experience creating AV documentation and drawings (signal flow, system drawings, Visio/CAD).
- Comfort selecting equipment and building practical, buildable solutions aligned to standards and budget.
- Effective communication skills for cross-team coordination.
- Collaborative and supportive work style, with the ability to work independently and ask clarifying questions.
- Must be able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete required employment eligibility verification forms.
