About the Role
Partner with business leaders to build an organization where people want to stay through leadership development, talent strategy, organizational health, and employee experience. This role involves strategic HR capabilities in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and high-impact environment, utilizing AI and GenAI tools.
Responsibilities
- Partner with and coach business leaders on complex people decisions, surface risks, and support business reviews; lead change initiatives aligned with business goals.
- Own employee relations matters and workplace investigations; guide managers through corrective actions and terminations; escalate high-risk issues to senior HR and Legal; lead site compliance, audits, and risk controls.
- Analyze attrition, retention, and engagement to drive action plans; support workforce and succession planning; lead talent reviews and calibration; coach leaders on performance management and development.
- Maintain a strong, visible floor presence—engaging employees directly across shifts and sites to build trust and resolve issues early; coach leaders on trust and inclusion; oversee recognition and ELGs; monitor fairness in talent decisions.
- Mentor less-experienced HR team members and support the HRM; uphold consistent standard work; drive continuous improvement and self-service adoption; partner with specialist HR teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of human resource generalist experience
- Knowledge of local labor law
- Experience as a human resource generalist
- Experience with specific knowledge of human resource theory, functions and practice, performance appraisal systems and staff development
- Experience supporting hourly employee client group
- Experience with MS Office tools and HR Information Systems
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese at a business level or above (N1+)
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English at C1 level or above
