About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Inspector to join our growing Aviation team and support the Resident Engineer on projects involving airfield electrical improvements.
Responsibilities
- Support the Resident Engineer in documenting construction activity related to airfield electrical improvements.
- Assist in monitoring construction contractor activity related to the installation of electrical power and components.
- Monitor adherence to approved plans and specifications.
- Make a thorough record of the work observed by completing and submitting a Daily Construction Report.
- Interface with the construction work force, pointing out conditions that may lead to unsatisfactory work professionally and courteously.
- Monitor Contractor compliance with the Contractor’s Safety and Health Plan and specific Safe Work Plans.
- Monitor and ensure Contractor’s compliance with the approved Contractor’s Quality Plan.
- Identify deficient contractor work and monitor/verify effective correction.
- Monitor and verify the production of manually marked-up “As-Built” drawing sets and participate in the review of finalized Record Drawings.
- Contribute information for daily manpower, materials, and equipment reports, and weekly progress summaries including photos.
- Contribute information for Monthly Technical and Progress reports summarizing activities.
- Observe independent testing and monitor instrumentation readings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field (or equivalent).
- Experience working on electrical engineering construction projects in construction inspection and daily report writing required.
- Experience with NYSDOT required.
