About the Role
This course provides students with an introduction to the theory and practice of project management, emphasizing practical application. It aims to prepare students to participate in, contribute to, lead, and succeed in future health informatics projects by integrating course material with their experiences.
Responsibilities
- Course co-instructor for a professional graduate course using competency-based learning and assessment methods.
- Responsible for course delivery and assessment of student outcomes.
- Must be accessible to students outside of class hours.
Requirements
- PhD or Masters level education in health informatics or related field.
- A robust understanding of project management in health informatics and/or health management.
- Experience in information management in a health care setting.
- Experience teaching graduate-level courses, preferably in health informatics.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to mature students and facilitate group learning processes.
- Comfortable with electronic teaching tools such as Learning Management Systems (e.g., Quercus), PowerPoint, as well as on-line collaboration tools (Blogs, Wikkis, Discussion Boards, Webinars, or Video-conferencing).
