About the Role
The Client Strategy Team researches, develops MFS's views, and delivers in-depth analysis, insight, thought leadership, and consulting on capital markets, retirement, and sustainable investing. The team also develops and executes the strategic plan to ensure MFS adopts and promotes best practices. The Lead Strategist will partner with stakeholders to formulate MFS’s strategic priorities around sustainable investing, lead its execution, and develop MFS's sustainability content strategy and research agenda. This role requires representing sustainability expertise in due diligence, sales meetings, and high-profile events, communicating MFS’s views on incorporating sustainability into the investment process.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with client-facing and investment teams to formulate and represent MFS' views on sustainability and its incorporation into the investment process.
- Identify and develop perspectives on sustainability-related investment topics for relationship management teams to share with clients.
- Partner with other business leaders to lead strategic projects related to sustainable investing.
- Take responsibility for the development and delivery of the sustainability strategy.
- Lead the development of MFS house views and provide direction for presentation creation.
- Represent MFS at high-profile client meetings and events.
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members on strategic projects and thought leadership.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of client investment decision issues, including governance, investment policy, and implementation.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Extensive experience in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated expertise in current sustainability topics, trends, and best practices.
- Ability to show vision and strategic clarity.
- Excellent strategic thinking and change management skills.
- High adaptability in response to a dynamic field.
- Ability to build strong relationships, inspire trust, and exert influence with key stakeholders on sustainability strategy issues.
- Deep understanding of quantitative tools and techniques.
- Comfort with technical subject matter related to all asset classes and global capital markets.
- Excellent presentation experience, with the ability to deliver high-quality client engagements.
- Ability to provide inclusive leadership within a team of qualified and technically oriented experts.
