About the Role

Join our Capital A restaurant as a Part-Time Server, delivering prompt, friendly, and accurate service to guests. This role is key to creating memorable guest experiences and first impressions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of the dining room, menus, and beverage offerings.
  • Greet guests with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.
  • Take orders, answer questions, and offer suggestions on menu selections and daily specials.
  • Communicate guest requirements, allergies, and dietary needs to the culinary team.
  • Record transactions in the MICROS system and adhere to cash handling standards.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and beverages.
  • Present accurate checks and process payments.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
  • Complete station set-up, break-down, and side work duties.
  • Ensure tables are set up properly, including polishing and cleaning glasses.
  • Provide service to guests according to Omni Moments of Service Standards.
  • Be pleasant, smile, and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
  • Clean, clear, and reset service areas.
  • Protect the hotel from liability with regard to over serving guests.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year serving experience; high volume sports/live entertainment bar experience preferred.
  • Must have unexpired Food Handler and TABC certifications, or obtain upon hire.
  • Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting specialty mixed cocktails.
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service, service recovery, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Position requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments.
