About the Role
Own the quality of the Fiscal.ai Terminal, a research and data platform used by thousands of investors. This engineering role involves finding, reproducing, and fixing bugs across the full stack, and building an end-to-end test framework to prevent regressions. You will work closely with engineers building the Terminal and data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Own the inbound bug pipeline for the Terminal, including Sentry issues and customer-reported problems.
- Reproduce, prioritize, and fix or route all reported bugs.
- Fix bugs across the frontend (React/Next.js), backend (Cloudflare Workers), and data layer, investigating to the root cause.
- Design and build the end-to-end test framework for the Terminal using Playwright.
- Implement end-to-end tests in CI against preview deploys to grow regression coverage.
- Write unit and integration tests to prevent the same class of bug from shipping twice.
- Develop playbooks for debugging, test conventions, and tooling for the team.
Requirements
- Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Hands-on experience building end-to-end test automation (Playwright preferred) and unit tests (Vitest or Jest).
- Experience running tests in CI.
- Strong debugging skills across the full stack, including browser devtools, network traces, server logs, error monitoring, and database queries.
- Experience testing and debugging data-heavy applications where correctness is critical (e.g., finance, analytics).
- Proven experience or strong interest in investing and finance; ability to understand financial statements and metrics.
- Understanding of how paid data products function, including subscription tiers, entitlements, and paywalls.
- Experience or interest in AI technologies, including LLMs and AI coding agents.
- Keen eye for design, UI, and UX.
- Based in Canada.
