About the Role
United Group is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for Nob Hill Apartments in Syracuse, NY. This role is responsible for completing assigned maintenance tasks, ensuring the upkeep of property exteriors and interiors, and managing inventory.
Responsibilities
- Completes maintenance work orders as assigned.
- Performs maintenance relating to the exterior and interiors of assigned property buildings.
- Maintains inventory of equipment, tools, supplies, and work materials.
- Maintains a working knowledge of all utility sources and supply lines.
- Performs general maintenance including painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, mowing, and plowing.
- Performs all phases of snow removal and maintains associated equipment.
- Paints, cleans, and completes maintenance items for units under renovation.
- Cleans all common areas and is responsible for trash removal.
- Assesses and prioritizes all work to be performed on the assigned site.
- Completes daily work schedules for routine maintenance duties.
- Notifies Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager of all problems and potential issues.
- Ensures the quality of work duties performed.
- Handles emergency situations and communicates all details to the Property Manager.
- Completes special projects and other responsibilities as determined.
Requirements
- A minimum of three (3) years driving experience is required if the position will be responsible for driving or considered to be a driving role.
- Must be able to stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours.
- Frequent body movements including ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, and pull.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors during various weather conditions.
- Frequently may be exposed to outdoor spaces, service areas, or other environments with variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects.
- Potential exposure to substances such as paints, cleaning agents, chemicals, etc. which may be considered irritants.
- Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level.
- Exceptional communication, sales, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to solve problems involving residents and challenging situations.
