About the Role
The United Group of Companies is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join the team at Fayette Place/Uncommon Apartments in Syracuse, NY. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality and functionality of our multi-family apartment communities.
Responsibilities
- Completes assigned maintenance work orders.
- Performs maintenance on building exteriors and interiors.
- Maintains inventory of equipment, tools, supplies, and work materials.
- Maintains a working knowledge of utility sources and supply lines.
- Performs general maintenance including painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, mowing, and plowing.
- Completes all phases of snow removal and maintains related equipment.
- Prepares units for renovation by painting, cleaning, and completing maintenance items.
- Cleans common areas and removes trash.
- Assesses and prioritizes work on assigned sites.
- Completes daily work schedules for routine maintenance.
- Notifies Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager of problems and potential issues.
- Ensures the quality of performed duties.
- Handles emergency situations and communicates incident details to the Property Manager.
- Undertakes special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintains a professional and courteous manner with residents, vendors, contractors, and employees.
- Actively participates in and follows safety and health programs.
Requirements
- A minimum of three (3) years driving experience is required if the position will be responsible for driving or considered to be a driving role.
- Must be able to stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours.
- Must be able to perform frequent body movements including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors during various weather conditions.
- Potential exposure to substances such as paints, cleaning agents, chemicals, etc.
- Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level.
- Ability to solve problems involving residents and challenging situations.
