About the Role
In this 18-month Contract role, you will contribute to the success of the Loyalty & Partnerships Finance team within Canadian Banking. You will focus on creating value by understanding business drivers, maintaining financial controls, and delivering flawless execution of liability management and settlement processes. Responsibilities include financial reporting, accounting, expense and liability monitoring, variance analysis, reconciliation, and management reporting. You will also oversee process mapping and ensure financial processes for rewards points issuance align with audit and regulatory requirements. Effective communication and collaboration are essential for conveying insights and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Support rewards points issuance accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Ensure financial accounting and documentation for points issuance costs adhere to governance policies and SOX.
- Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including the attestation process.
- Support financial planning and analysis activities for the Loyalty and Partnerships business.
- Support the Senior Manager with KPIs for the loyalty rewards program, including points issuance forecasts.
- Support ongoing collaboration and communication with partners and stakeholders regarding program financials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive experience in Finance operations or accounting roles
- Excellent analytical skills, passion for accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information clearly
- Strategic thinking, curiosity, communication, results-orientation, leadership skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Alteryx and PowerBI
Skills
- CPA/CFA certification is an asset
- Experience or knowledge of loyalty program financial structure is a plus
- SQL/Excel VBA is an asset
