About the Role

Lead the creative and operational execution of a growing slate of sports programming. This role bridges the Director of Production and day-to-day staff, overseeing the full production lifecycle across multiple series to ensure shows are creatively strong, operationally efficient, and align with the Doing Things brand. The ideal candidate has a passion for creating funny, thoughtful, and culturally relevant sports content, enjoys building systems, and can seamlessly integrate sponsor messaging without compromising creative integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day production of the new Sports slate.
  • Oversee projects from development through final delivery.
  • Partner with Creative, Production, Editorial, Social, Sales, and Brand teams to execute editorial and branded content.
  • Lead the creative execution of branded campaigns, ensuring sponsor objectives are integrated thoughtfully.
  • Work with brand partners and internal stakeholders to deliver authentic and entertaining integrations.
  • Manage production schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocation.
  • Supervise producers, coordinators, editors, field crews, and freelance talent.
  • Develop production workflows and scalable systems to improve efficiency.
  • Help shape new show concepts, recurring formats, and production strategies.
  • Maintain a high creative bar while ensuring productions stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Make strong editorial and production decisions in fast-moving environments.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and organized production environment.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years producing premium digital, unscripted, or documentary-style content.
  • Up to speed on sports culture and able to translate it through various lenses (pop culture, comedy, female-skewing).
  • Experience overseeing multiple productions simultaneously from development through delivery.
  • Proven ability to develop high-performing, social-first content with a deep understanding of audience engagement drivers.
  • Expertise in crafting compelling hooks, identifying viral opportunities, and creating shareable videos for YouTube and social platforms.
  • Proven experience managing producers and cross-functional creative teams.
  • Demonstrated experience producing branded content with authentic sponsor integrations.
  • Strong creative instincts and understanding of what resonates on YouTube and social platforms.
  • Excellent production management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and logistics.
  • Experience producing sports content with thoughtful, access-aware practices.
  • Deep familiarity with field production and post-production workflows.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic oversight with hands-on problem solving.
  • Based in New York City and available for regular in-person production.
