About the Role

We are seeking a senior product communications leader to own OpenAI’s B2B product narrative across business, trade, and nontraditional media. You will lead B2B communications for major product and platform launches, translate technical capabilities into clear business value, and build a sustained editorial program grounded in customer proof. Your work will help business leaders understand the problems our products solve and the outcomes they can enable using frontier intelligence. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that spans all levels of communications, from strategic positioning and executive narratives to writing launch materials, developing media pitches, and ensuring detailed execution. You will collaborate closely with Product, Research, Marketing, Sales, and the central Product Communications team to identify buyer needs, substantiate claims, and deliver a clear, consistent B2B story to the market. This role reports to the Head of Business Communications.

Responsibilities

Set the positioning for OpenAI’s business products, connecting new capabilities to customer needs, the work they enable, and the evidence behind our claims.
Lead business storytelling for priority launches across Codex, ChatGPT Work, API and developer capabilities, agents, and other enterprise products, in partnership with central Product Communications and product owners.
Build a sustained editorial program between launches, using customer stories, explainers, and executive perspectives to show how our products create value in practice.
Turn complex product developments into clear, accurate stories for people who buy, build with, or assess our products.
Build relationships with reporters and other voices who shape enterprise technology decisions, developing stories that extend beyond launch-day coverage.
Drive launch execution from early messaging and customer proof through spokesperson preparation, media outreach, and learning from the response.
Advise senior partners on the business story, clarify ownership and expert review early, and help teams make sound decisions quickly when priorities change.

Requirements

Deep experience communicating complex enterprise technology in terms of business needs and outcomes.
A record of leading significant launches and building a durable market narrative between them.
Excellent writing, with a habit of explaining technical capabilities without jargon.
Strong judgment about what enterprise buyers need to know, what customer evidence supports, and where future ambition begins.
The confidence to work closely with senior executives and bring teams to a decision under pressure.
The ability to move from strategy into hands-on execution at speed, and curiosity about new ways to reach business audiences.
