About the Role

This course is designed to provide students with a working knowledge of healthcare data types, governance, privacy, standards, quality, and applied statistical techniques relevant to healthcare settings. Students will review statistical methods used in health research, learn SAS for data analysis, and explore clinical data sciences, focusing on fundamental concepts, related skills, and data analytics techniques like Regex, SQL, and RapidMiner. The aim is for students to gain practical experience in statistical and data analytics techniques for their daily professional tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Course co-instructor for a professional graduate course using competency-based learning and assessment methods.
  • Responsible for course design and assessment of student outcomes.
  • Must be accessible to students outside of classroom hours.

Requirements

  • PhD or Masters level education in Measurement and Evaluation, Statistics or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting research projects requiring quantitative, qualitative and mixed research methodology.
  • Experience in design and implementation of data collection instruments and effective methods for communicating research results.
  • Experience teaching graduate-level courses, preferably in research methodology and/or statistics related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to mature students and facilitate group learning processes.
  • Comfortable with electronic teaching tools such as Learning Management Systems (e.g., Quercus), PowerPoint, as well as on-line collaboration tools (Blogs, Wikkis, Discussion Boards, Webinars, or Video-conferencing).
