About the Role
This course is designed to provide students with a working knowledge of various healthcare data types, governance, privacy, standards, quality, and applied statistical techniques. Students will review common statistical methods used in health research, utilize SAS for data analysis, and learn about clinical data sciences, focusing on fundamental concepts, related skills, and data analytics techniques like Regex, SQL, and RapidMiner. The aim is for students to gain practical experience in statistical and data analytics techniques for their professional tasks.
Responsibilities
- Serve as course co-instructor for a professional graduate course utilizing competency-based learning and assessment methods.
- Responsible for course design and assessment of student outcomes.
- Must be accessible to students outside of classroom hours.
Requirements
- PhD or Masters level education in Measurement and Evaluation, Statistics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience conducting research projects requiring quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methodology.
- Experience in the design and implementation of data collection instruments and effective methods for communicating research results.
- Experience teaching graduate-level courses, preferably in research methodology and/or statistics related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to mature students and facilitate group learning processes.
- Comfortable with electronic teaching tools such as Learning Management Systems (e.g., Quercus), PowerPoint, and online collaboration tools (Blogs, Wikkis, Discussion Boards, Webinars, or Video-conferencing).
