About the Role
Kiewit Engineering Group is seeking talented individuals to join their Design Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on world-class building projects, contributing to career-defining work that shapes communities. Responsibilities
- Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for projects of varying complexity.
- Incorporate contract and customer requirements to ensure project goals are met or exceeded.
- Contribute to client proposals and project cost estimates, leading feasibility and planning studies.
- Develop and apply departmental design methods, industry standards, engineering codes, and Kiewit guidelines.
- Oversee the preparation of design calculations, project drawings, and project design specifications.
- Formulate technical specifications, perform bid evaluations, and make recommendations for equipment selection and contract award.
- Schedule, review, and coordinate design efforts with project personnel.
- Oversee supplier shop drawing review, comment resolution, and approval.
- Perform technical contract administration.
- Mentor and direct the work of entry and mid-level employees, reviewing their progress and providing coaching.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to address electrical/I&C-related design concepts, issues, or concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- Familiarity with control system programming concepts.
- Experience with SCADA systems and PLC.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
