About the Role

This role offers a hands-on Financial Management professional the opportunity to execute a turnaround, influence financial processes, and gain exposure to institutional property management. You will make an immediate impact on asset management strategy and financial performance while working alongside an experienced leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day property accounting and lease administration functions for a complex, multi-property commercial real estate portfolio, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete financial reporting.
  • Maintain and reconcile accrual and cash-basis books, focusing on cash flow available to fund capital expenditures, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and sundry transactions.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, management reports, variance analyses, and cash flow reporting.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, including invoice review, coding, approvals, payment processing, and vendor compliance.
  • Oversee tenant billing and lease administration, ensuring accurate billing in accordance with lease requirements.
  • Produce off-cycle rent and arrears reporting, with emphasis on distressed tenants, delinquency trends, collections, and landlord exposure.
  • Provide financial oversight of approximately $30 million in capital improvements, including project accounting, job costing, capitalization, and budget-to-actual reporting.
  • Support accounting and financial administration for landlord capital projects and new tenant improvement projects.
  • Review and approve invoices for construction and capital improvement projects.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of annual operating and capital budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Support audit and control reviews by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Establish and maintain accurate financial records and reporting processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager and/or senior management.

Requirements

  • Four year degree in Accounting required.
  • 5+ years of experience in the accounting field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the real estate industry.
  • Excellent lease administration skills required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Yardi Voyager and Nexus preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills.
