About the Role
The Cleaner will perform a variety of custodial duties under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, adhering to established standards and procedures of C&W Services.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces.
- Operate light and heavy commercial floor machines, including buffers and shampoo machines.
- Vacuum rugs and perform spot cleaning and shampooing as directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
- Wash windowsills, interior glass doors, partitions, and specified windows.
- Clean glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior.
- Wash and spot clean interior walls daily.
- Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
- Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.
- Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move to the designated collection area.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers.
- Sweep or shovel snow from steps, walkways at building entrances, and connecting walkways as directed.
- Perform periodic tasks such as high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Basic cleaning responsibilities require no previous experience.
- Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
- Ability to use a portable vacuum cleaner (back pack style).
- Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
