About the Role
CASES is a New York City agency focused on the intersection of behavioral health and the criminal justice system. Our mission is to enhance public safety through innovative services that reduce crime and incarceration, improve behavioral health, and promote recovery. The Court Services department manages court-mandated programming, operating alternative to detention and incarceration programs facilitated by the NYS Office of Court Administration. We interface with multiple stakeholders to support these program options for thousands of defendants across multiple boroughs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with judges, prosecutors, defense counsel, and court partners to facilitate program admissions and maintain CASES’ credibility.
- Provide mentorship and support to less experienced colleagues.
- Assist with training new staff on database and reporting procedures.
- Ensure timely, complete, and accurate documentation in the case record database, including collecting and tracking participant demographics, intake, re-arrest cases, court dates, and warrants.
- Facilitate collaboration with SRP, ROAR, ATI, and NCS staff to ensure accurate court information and participant compliance with supervision conditions.
- Provide timely and accurate notification to the court regarding participant non-compliance.
- Deliver culturally competent and anti-racist services in court, responsive to the needs of diverse participants.
- Maintain quality assurance of all data entry tasks to ensure reporting accuracy.
- Analyze and compare data between multiple databases including OCA, WebCRIMs, PSYCKES, and eJusticeNY.
- Ensure accessibility of information for program staff by developing and maintaining a filing system for administrative and case records.
- Respond appropriately, accurately, and timely to judicial inquiries and attorney correspondence.
- Assist court parties with compliance/non-compliance inquiries and matters.
- Participate in peer review and quality assurance activities to improve data management.
- Ensure QA data is complete and accurate.
- Analyze Power BI and Salesforce reports, and multiple databases for trends to assist program teams.
- Document and disseminate findings of data analysis constructively, and aid the team with solutions for data management and program delivery.
- Work a regular schedule and adhere to schedule changes to ensure SRP consistently maintains coverage for all court shifts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors and senior staff.
- Participate in supervision, case review, staff meetings, and in-service trainings to develop professional skills.
- Complete all other tasks as noted by supervisors.
Requirements
- Associate's degree required.
- 2 years of data entry and data management experience, including running reports.
- Experience within a community-based organization as support staff, evaluator, or direct service provider.
- Ability to function effectively in a high-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Ability to work independently.
Skills
- Database development, management, and analysis skills preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse participants and staff.
- Bilingual candidates preferred.
- Flexibility to manage shifting priorities.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
