About the Role
The Test & Measurement Group in Austin is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain systems, tools, and automation supporting software development and delivery across Windows, Linux, and macOS. This role involves collaboration with engineering and product teams to enhance developer productivity, improve build and release processes, and ensure reliable software delivery, offering opportunities to solve complex technical challenges and impact multiple product lines.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Develop automation solutions using Python and scripting technologies to improve engineering workflows.
- Design, maintain, and improve build and release systems across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
- Collaborate with development and test teams to streamline software integration, validation, and release activities.
- Monitor and improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of build and deployment infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting software builds, deployments, and engineering systems.
- Support source control management and development workflows using Git and related tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve developer productivity through automation and process improvements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand challenges and implement scalable technical solutions.
- Document systems, processes, and best practices for long-term maintainability.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or related roles.
- Strong programming and scripting skills using Python and/or similar languages.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git.
- Experience working in Linux and Windows environments.
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and software delivery practices.
- Familiarity with automation and workflow optimization.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- US Citizenship or Green Card Holder.
