About the Role
The Data Cloud team is building an end-to-end analytics and business intelligence system to replace customers' needs for Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and data pipelines. This system will handle ingestion, transformation, lineage, data catalogs, and visualization. The team is also exploring ML and LLMs for automated insight generation and conversational analytics experiences.
Responsibilities
- Work on distributed processing engines and distributed databases.
- Develop high-quality software using Python, MongoDB, CDC, and Kafka.
- Leverage big data technologies such as Aurora, Trino, Presto, Pinot, Iceberg, and Flink.
- Build custom programming languages within the Rippling Platform.
- Create scalable data platforms, data lakes, and data ingestion systems.
- Design, develop, code, and test software systems, improvements, products, and user-facing experiences.
- Collaborate with software architects and senior developers on advanced development work.
- Contribute to product design and implementation discussions.
- Implement projects from ideation to production.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in backend engineering roles.
- Experience writing testable and performant backend code.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience mentoring less-experienced developers.
- Ability to thrive with autonomy and explore creative solutions.
