About the Role

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Environmental / Water Resources Engineer to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations and learn business skills for a successful consulting career. You will collaborate with top professionals on complex projects involving innovative civil design, water management, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, stormwater infrastructure, flood mitigation, and environmental permitting.

Responsibilities

Civil/infrastructure design and site layout
Water resources engineering analyses including hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) modeling and design
Fieldwork such as surface water evaluations, groundwater sampling, site inspections, and civil contractor oversight
Preparation of technical drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and analyses for civil design, landfill and impoundment design and permitting, site development and grading, water resources engineering/stormwater management, and erosion and sediment controls
Performing engineering computations using computer-based technical tools and preparing related calculation packages
Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed

Requirements

At least 2 years of prior internship or full-time experience in civil/environmental consulting or with a civil contractor, or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
Experience performing civil design and site grading (preferred)
Experience with relevant engineering software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, EPA SWMM, AutoCAD, ArcView, etc. (preferred)
Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, and problem-solving skills (required)
Regular field work and overnight travel (required)
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing (required)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
