About the Role
The Industrial Cleaner/Sanitor is responsible for executing tasks related to sanitation, dust abatement, facility upkeep, training, and operations support while maintaining an organized, clean, and dust-free work environment. This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment in various facility spaces.
- Perform dust mitigation and control dust buildup on equipment, platforms, machines, floors, and other assigned areas.
- Document assigned cleaning and sanitation duties.
- Replenish supplies for PPE, bathrooms, hand wash stations, offices, and other designated areas.
- Operate cleaning equipment to clean plant floors, aisles, warehouses, and assigned work areas.
- Manage removal and disposal of facility trash, empty pallets, recyclable goods, and other waste materials.
- Assist operators with packaging organization.
- Assist operators, supervisors, and lead operators with operational support needs.
- Assist the Quality department with product holds, product inspections, and clerical tasks.
- Maintain facility grounds by assisting with building upkeep, indoor and outdoor inspections, and corrective actions.
- Train and instruct new cleaning personnel and temporary employees.
- Ability to be trained and certified on Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).
- Work effectively to ensure food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality are maintained.
- Report any risks or evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging, or raw materials.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven ability to successfully meet customer and deadlines.
- Results-oriented, process improvement focused.
- Highly organized, self-starter that can work with little direct supervision.
- Ability to follow direction and complete tasks accordingly.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
