About the Role
The Supply Chain Supervisor leads and coordinates all site-level supply chain activities at the Endicott manufacturing facility, overseeing production planning, purchasing, inventory management, material flow, logistics, and customer order fulfillment to ensure uninterrupted operations and on-time delivery. This role acts as the primary link between various departments and suppliers, aligning resources with business objectives and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and supervise site supply chain personnel.
- Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, and development plans.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Lead development and execution of production schedules aligned with customer demand and manufacturing capacity.
- Coordinate demand, supply, and production planning activities.
- Partner closely with Operations leadership to balance labor, material availability, and production priorities.
- Facilitate daily and weekly planning meetings.
- Oversee procurement activities to ensure material availability while balancing inventory investment.
- Monitor supplier performance including quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
- Work with strategic suppliers to resolve shortages, expedite critical materials, and improve service levels.
- Support supplier qualification and risk mitigation efforts.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, inventory controls, and transaction discipline.
- Develop inventory strategies to optimize working capital while supporting customer service requirements.
- Monitor inventory health, excess and obsolete inventory, and inventory turns.
- Investigate and resolve material discrepancies and inventory variances.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities.
- Ensure efficient material movement throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to improve material flow.
- Support freight cost management and transportation optimization.
- Monitor order status and delivery performance to ensure customer commitments are achieved.
- Partner with Customer Service and Sales teams regarding delivery schedules, forecast changes, and order priorities.
- Lead escalation efforts for critical customer requirements and delivery recovery plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain best practices.
- Analyze key supply chain metrics and implement corrective actions.
- Support ERP/MRP system optimization and data integrity initiatives.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for supply chain processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing supply chain, planning, purchasing, or materials management.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong understanding of production planning, procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
- Experience in electrical components, connectors, cable assemblies, industrial manufacturing, or related industries.
- APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
- Experience supporting high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environments.
