About the Role
The Supervisor, Clinical Programs plays a key role in supporting a team of clinicians, providing supervision, guidance, and coaching to ensure the continuous improvement and effectiveness of the program. This role ensures that clinical care is delivered with a trauma-informed approach and coordinates with other Supervisors to ensure seamless and consistent delivery of services after hours and on weekends.
Responsibilities
- Contribute feedback to the evaluation of program content, making recommendations for revisions and improvements using evidence-based practices.
- Provide on-site leadership to clinical team members after hours and on weekends as needed.
- Supervise and support the clinical development of counselling, nursing, and support worker staff.
- Support the clinical manager by providing ongoing feedback and input to performance review processes.
- Support the effective and thorough onboarding and orientation of new staff.
- Ensure clinicians understand and live the organization’s mission, purpose and values while employing evidence-based therapy through a trauma informed lens.
- Participate with the Clinical Manager and provide input into the recruitment and selection process for staff.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new processes or initiatives and complete projects as assigned.
- Intervene on any client safety issues and investigate client concerns and complaints as required.
- Complete detailed documentation and charting appropriately for clinical issues arising after hours and ensure proper communication to all teams.
- Participate in leadership meetings and consultation as required, making recommendations based on client progress.
- Support a framework of accountability for clients in their recovery.
- Engage in personal professional development, maintain appropriate professional associations, and provide current documentation to Human Resources.
- Provide supervision for students in placement.
- Undertake Quality Assurance activities as assigned, including completion of outcome measures.
- Engage in continued training provided by EHN and other educational opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology or related discipline; BA degree in a related field may be considered with commensurate experience and regulatory college membership.
- Minimum three to five years of mental health and addictions related experience; residential care experience is an asset.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in leadership, including demonstrated knowledge of people management practices based on best practice.
- Membership and good standing with a regulatory college required.
- Experience with a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities (ACT, CBT, DBT, CPT, exposure therapy, etc.) required.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills to intervene in clinically complex situations.
