About the Role
This position has responsibilities shared between the Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing campuses. The role assesses organizational learning needs, designs and delivers training using clinical and non-clinical resources, and supports the Nursing Department with staff development, competency validation, regulatory compliance, and best practices in resident care. It fosters professional growth, enhances quality outcomes, and ensures excellence in service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Assesses learning needs and identifies development opportunities.
- Designs and delivers training to staff across the organization.
- Evaluates, reviews, and revises existing educational offerings, initiating additional activities to meet changing needs.
- Acts as a resource person and consultant for all staff members on teaching methods and materials.
- Utilizes a variety of training techniques and methods to instruct participants and enhance the learning experience.
- Acts as an internal consultant in the development and utilization of evaluation tools.
- Develops relationships with community agencies, organizations, universities, and colleges.
- Assists in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training for palliative care and other programs.
- Assists with clinical quality assurance activity.
- Assists with training for families and residents throughout the campus.
- Assists in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating community-wide educational programs.
- Participates in formal and informal educational experiences for self-development and to ensure updated knowledge and expertise.
- Serves as a member of or consultant to organization committees.
- Performs all other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current New York State license as Registered Nurse is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience.
- Minimum of 1 year teaching/instruction design experience.
