About the Role

The Associate, Granting plays a critical role in supporting a portfolio of donor-funded projects and initiatives. Using strong problem-solving and analytical skills, the Associate helps manage the granting components of projects from planning through delivery, coordinating activities, supporting project implementation, and communicating project impact to donors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of funds, commitments, and related reporting requirements to optimize granting and demonstrate impact to donors.
  • Monitor grant projects, working with fund holders, to ensure effective and efficient execution.
  • Develop progress reports, briefing materials, and other resources for diverse stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, and organizational policies.
  • Suggest improvements to workflows and develop project plans, standard operating procedures, tools, and templates.
  • Support the development and implementation of system tools to enhance Granting team operations.
  • Analyze complex issues related to funding allocation.
  • Produce or contribute to analytics on key performance indicators and metrics to identify granting trends and measure success.
  • Support the development and implementation of an integrated approach to measure and report the financial impact of donations to donors.
  • Identify complex issues and risks in real-time, ideate resolutions, and make informed recommendations.
  • Exercise sound judgment to escalate issues and concerns proactively.
  • Work creatively and analytically, demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor emerging trends in the charitable sector and communicate relevant insights to improve granting programs, processes, and fund management.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of demonstrated success in fundraising and philanthropy is mandatory.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel and CRM.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrates strong business communication, financial, and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and functionality.
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and working with highly sensitive information.
  • Demonstrates strong business communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and excellent facilitation abilities.
  • Skilled in partnering with diverse stakeholders within complex governance structures and navigating issues with diplomacy and tact.
