About the Role
La La Land Cafe is a movement dedicated to spreading kindness, positivity, and inclusivity, aiming to make every guest feel valued and uplifted. We are seeking passionate, enthusiastic Team Members to help prepare high-quality beverages, maintain cleanliness, and support food preparation, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty beverages, ensuring consistency.
- Greet customers and provide outstanding customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and customer areas.
- Receive and process payments.
- Clean and sanitize counters, equipment, and customer areas.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Ensure proper upkeep of workstations, utensils, and storage areas.
- Follow health and safety guidelines for food handling.
- Serve and prepare food items, including avocado toast, pastries, and muffins.
- Ensure food quality and freshness.
- Assist with general cleaning, including taking out trash.
- Restock ingredients and supplies as needed.
- Support other team members to ensure smooth store operations.
- Deliver food and drink orders promptly and accurately.
- Assist with restocking supplies.
- Keep front-of-house and back-of-house areas clean and organized.
- Clear and wipe down tables, return dishes to the kitchen, and reset dining areas.
- Support baristas and kitchen staff during peak hours.
- Help manage to-go and delivery orders.
Requirements
- High school diploma; relevant training is a plus.
- A naturally positive attitude and a genuine love for connecting with people.
- Previous work experience as a Barista or in Customer Service.
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to gauge customers’ preferences.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- Food handler certification.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to walk within the café.
- Ability to bend and reach.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to reach above shoulder level.
