About the Role
Toys"R"Us is seeking a Store Manager to lead the team at our Westchester location. The ideal candidate will embody the brand's values and be committed to providing a positive, memorable, and fun experience for all customers and associates. This role involves managing daily operations, developing the team, achieving sales targets, and acting as a liaison between customers and various Home Office functions.
Responsibilities
- Inspire and motivate the team by illustrating a clear vision of the customer experience and the teamwork required to deliver it.
- Embrace new products with a positive attitude and develop a store culture of excitement, enthusiasm, and product knowledge.
- Coach team members in anticipating customer needs, encouraging purchases, and creating a fun store atmosphere.
- Cultivate a strong partnership with the visual merchandising team and flawlessly execute merchandising standards and marketing strategies.
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain an associate team capable of delivering sales targets while maintaining a cheerful, stimulating environment.
- Provide and communicate clear expectations of Toys"R"Us standards, including customer experience, visual merchandising, and operational execution.
- Develop a store culture of continuous growth and accountability and encourage personal development.
- Hold associates accountable for demonstrating customer-centric selling behaviors and for individual sales contributions/total store performance.
- Deliver training and constructive feedback in a timely manner.
- Deliver mid-year and annual reviews for all employees, discussing strengths and opportunities.
- Build team morale by celebrating successes.
- Establish strategic plans to generate sales and drive increases in KPIs.
- Analyze KPIs to make real-time business decisions.
- Establish in-store event micro-goals and assess sales and traffic impact and ROI of events in partnership with Home Office.
- Quantitatively link the consistent delivery of the customer experience to the achievement of sales goals.
- Ensure the team has all the information they need to create a captivating in-store experience that will result in sales.
- Clearly and concisely share learnings with Home Office partners, always communicating with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Ensure all associates remain updated on company policies and store promotions and are competent in maximizing resources to improve customer and associate experiences.
- Evaluate store sales, staffing, and payroll budgets and ensure day-to-day operations and schedules align to meet business needs and deliver the Toys"R"Us customer experience.
- Protect company assets through loss prevention training and maintaining loss prevention protocols.
- Maintain safety standards.

- Manage store supply inventory.
Requirements
- BA, BS or Associate’s degree required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail, hospitality, or event execution management, or primary/secondary education teaching.
- Self-motivated, accountable, responsible, and open to feedback.
- Proven successful experience as a retail store manager with a sales focus.
- A solution-oriented leader with a sense of innovation and curiosity.
- Knowledge in retail operations, sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, store budget preparation, and loss prevention is preferred.
- Experience in behavioral coaching, conflict management, training, and development is a plus.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office). POS experience preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
- Ability to manage a sales floor by delegating tasks effectively, ensuring the sales floor remains appropriately stocked and visually merchandised, associates are customer-focused, and the store atmosphere is reflective of Toys"R"Us.

- Ability to see, speak clearly, touch, hear/listen, use fingers and hands (repetitive motion), dexterity, climb, push/pull, lift up to 30 pounds, carry up to 30 pounds, move distances within and between locations/offices, and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to read simple and complex texts, write simple and complex texts, use basic math skills, analyze/comprehend, use judgment/make decisions, and perform clerical tasks.
- Ability to work shifts, work alone, work with others, have verbal contact with others, have face-to-face contact, work inside, and work in noisy environments with electrical equipment, high places, moving objects, dirt/dust.
