About the Role

The OGC Analyst – Conflicts Reporting is an integral part of Latham’s Office of the General Counsel team. This role prepares and analyzes standard conflicts reports regarding incoming attorneys and new client business, and analyzes standard new business and lateral conflicts checks.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with attorneys and staff regarding conflict check results and missing information.
  • Validate requirements for conflicts checks with the requesting attorney or secretary.
  • Update data in conflicts databases.
  • Conduct corporate research using internal and external resources to confirm information accuracy.
  • Obtain guidance from attorneys or Conflicts staff to evaluate conflicts checks.
  • Conduct research on corporate entities subject to conflicts review using various electronic databases, the Internet, and print sources.
  • Analyze and reply to attorneys’ responses concerning potential or actual conflicts.
  • Protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information.

Requirements

  • Advanced ability to perceive and analyze problems, and develop alternative strategies.
  • Well-developed, professional interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively interface with attorneys, management, support staff, and outside contacts.
  • Organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated work experience involving professional interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and the ability to work independently.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a law firm or other professional services firm, preferably.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience with Intapp Open software, preferably.
