About the Role
FSRA is a financial services regulator focused on ensuring financial safety, fairness, and choice for Ontarians. This role is crucial in designing, implementing, and managing data architecture solutions to support the organization's strategic business goals and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of data solutions.
- Develop and implement data strategies supporting business objectives.
- Design and maintain data models adhering to industry standards.
- Develop and implement ETL processes.
- Oversee the integration of data systems.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
- Maintain inventories of data assets and provide metadata.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates.
- Collaborate on architecture artifacts and maintain the architecture repository.
- Create and manage high-quality architecture artifacts.
- Evaluate existing and emerging data technologies for improvements.
- Conduct performance code reviews and create/review diagrams.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of data systems.
- Provide architectural guidance to project teams.
- Manage and mentor a team of data professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
- Certification in data architecture or related domains (e.g., CDMP, TOGAF).
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture.
- Strong background in data modeling (e.g., relational, dimensional, NoSQL).
- Experience in database management, data processing, end-to-end data lifecycle, and data integration.
- System Integrator experience preferred.
- Proficiency in data warehousing concepts and technologies.
- Proficiency in database management systems such as SQL, NoSQL, data warehousing, ETL tools, and cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), PowerBI.
- Experience with data governance and security.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations.
- Knowledge of metadata management and data quality frameworks.
- Experience working with big data technologies and data lake environments, including Hadoop, Spark, and other distributed systems.
- Experience with data integration tools.
- Experience with data governance and data quality management.
- Knowledge and understanding of complex technology ecosystems.
- Knowledge of business process modeling, information resource management, business analysis, design, and process re-engineering.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues related to data storage, access, and performance.
- Proficiency in maintaining currency in the latest data management technologies, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
