About the Role
The Client Relationship Management (CRM) team serves as the ambassador and primary relationship lead for IMCO's institutional clients and prospect relationships. This role is responsible for developing and delivering investment insights, portfolio commentary, market perspectives, and thought leadership that help clients understand IMCO's investment strategies, portfolio positioning, performance outcomes, and long-term investment views.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key liaison between IMCO’s investment teams, CRM, and institutional clients, and as an investment subject matter expert within CRM, equipping relationship managers and clients with timely insights on portfolio outcomes, investment decisions, market developments, and strategic initiatives.
- Build trusted relationships and credibility across IMCO’s investment platform, proactively engaging portfolio managers and subject matter experts to understand their perspectives, connect insights across teams, and identify issues and opportunities relevant to clients.
- Independently identify emerging investment themes, portfolio developments, and client questions that warrant further analysis or communication, and take ownership of moving ideas from initial concept through delivery.
- Partner with investment professionals to translate investment views, portfolio developments, strategic research, and market perspectives into clear, accurate, and meaningful client-facing communications.
- Monitor economic, geopolitical, market, and portfolio developments and develop timely investment insights, market commentary, portfolio narratives, and thought leadership on themes relevant to client portfolios and long-term investment outcomes.
- Lead investment thought leadership and client education initiatives, including market updates, thematic publications, webinars, roundtables, and other client communications.
- Lead the investment content and messaging for client meetings, investment committees, boards, conferences, and industry events, working closely with Client Reporting teams to develop supporting materials, and participate in discussions on investment strategy, portfolio positioning, asset allocation, performance, risk, and long-term market themes.
- Bring together the appropriate expertise across CRM and the investment platform to support a coherent IMCO investment narrative, strengthen the development and delivery of investment insights, and ensure communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with IMCO’s investment philosophy, current investment views, and client needs.
Requirements
- 8 to 10 years of experience in institutional asset management, investment consulting, portfolio strategy, capital markets, or a related investment field.
- Strong understanding of institutional investing, asset allocation, portfolio construction, investment performance, and capital markets, with the judgment to identify the issues most relevant to institutional clients.
- Proven ability to interpret complex investment issues and translate them into clear, accurate, and compelling investment commentary, market insights, thought leadership, presentations, and other client-facing communications.
- Excellent communication, writing, presentation, and public speaking skills, including experience presenting to institutional clients, boards, investment committees, or senior executives.
- Demonstrated ability to establish trusted relationships and credibility with portfolio managers, researchers, strategists, and other investment professionals, and to use those relationships to surface insights, facilitate collaboration, and advance shared priorities.
- Highly proactive and self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to originate ideas, independently identify opportunities, navigate ambiguity, and drive initiatives from concept through execution with limited direction.
- Sound judgment and the confidence to bring forward a perspective, constructively challenge thinking, influence across teams and levels, and determine when an issue requires broader input or escalation.
- Strong intellectual curiosity, interpersonal skills, and attention to accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Candidates being considered for this position will be required to undergo background screening.
