About the Role
Support image-guided targeting for clinical patients receiving accelerated TMS (aTMS) within the clinical TMS service of BWH. This role requires professionalism, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently, with opportunities for advanced analytics and contributing to groundbreaking medical discoveries.
Responsibilities
- Work with a variety of tools (ex: Python, Excel, etc.) to access data, write queries, develop programming logic, create dashboards, manipulate, and analyze large datasets.
- Assist in all statistical and data management tasks for clinical service with a high level of accuracy under supervision.
- Develop analytical and statistical tools to aid with analysis of patient data.
- Develop and maintain the service’s computational environment.
- Assist in writing processing programs for new phases of clinical care, including checking scripts for data validity and consistency.
- Contribute data and programming expertise at meetings.
- Assist in the design and implementation of interim and final data cleaning and documentation for closed sections of the clinical database.
- Modify and run routine quality control and reporting programs for clinical personnel and leadership.
- Write new macros for data management and analysis, and produce graphical output for visualization of results.
- Interact directly with clinical personnel to resolve data problems.
- Develop and maintain department databases and capabilities.
- Assist with MRI image acquisition and MRI data processing, including construction and de-bugging of data analysis pipelines.
- Manage the clinical TMS targeting pipeline.
- Collect data and maintain patient information database for clinical care.
- Input data, perform minimum analysis, and run various reports.
- Maintain patient records as part of record keeping function.
- Monitor and set up any needed equipment.
- Maintain inventory and order supplies when necessary.
- Perform transcranial magnetic stimulation if candidate is interested.
- Work as a team member with all other staff to ensure smooth collaboration.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Collect, enter, and organize patient data.
- Clean and analyze large databases of patient data.
- Develop and run statistical code for the clinical TMS service.
- Generate data visualizations using statistical software including Python.
- Contribute to the preparation and presentation of results in oral presentations and documentation in the electronic medical record.
Requirements
- BS or BA degree.
- New graduate with relevant course or project work.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of clinical research protocols.
- Knowledge of computer programs and databases.
- Working knowledge of programming systems such as Python.
- Knowledge of the Windows environment including Microsoft Office software and related database applications.
- Previous experience with MS Access and Excel highly encouraged.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for patient rights and individual needs.
- Experience in data analyses and/or statistical programming.
- Ability to learn new analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of data structure, programming, and administration of computational systems.
