About the Role
Austin Community College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for the Automated Manufacturing Technology Department to deliver outstanding academic programs that equip students with cutting-edge skills and contribute to Texas's economy. This role involves preparing and delivering coursework with a commitment to student success and culturally responsive teaching. The position also includes teaching early college high school classes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach courses in Advanced Manufacturing to a multicultural student population based on approved course learning outcomes.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to community college students and the discipline's standards.
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
- Provide teaching and mentoring services to students without discrimination.
- Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by department leadership.
- Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and other technologies for the classroom.
- Demonstrated proficiency using an online learning management system such as Blackboard to develop course content and perform administrative duties.
- Meet deadlines for attendance certification and submission of final course grades.
- Maintain regular office hours to assist students and improve retention and success.
- Recognize and reflect standards of civility and collegiality in all interactions.
- Comply with published college policies and procedures and meet professional teaching standards.
- Appropriate use of the college's learning management system.
