About the Role

Wilson Elser's San Francisco office is seeking an Insurance Coverage/Insurance Litigation Associate to join a collaborative team. This role offers a flexible, hybrid or remote working arrangement and is an excellent opportunity for experienced lawyers to handle insurance coverage and litigation matters for domestic and foreign insurers.

Responsibilities

Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices
Investigate claims and draft coverage opinion letters
In coverage litigation matters, draft pleadings, motions, and handle discovery
Provide clients with insurance coverage advice on a variety of subjects
Communicate with clients and provide status reports

Requirements

JD from an ABA accredited law school
Admitted to practice in the state of California
2-8 years of defense litigation experience
1+ years of coverage/coverage litigation experience
Experience in drafting coverage opinions in one or more insurance lines (CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, intellectual property, etc.)
Experience in either or both third-party or first-party claims
Coverage analysis and writing experience
Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required
Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred
Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial experience a plus
Trial experience a plus
