About the Role

Own the layer between marketing data and decision-making, providing reliable analytics, translating insights into clear stories, and enhancing team sharpness. This role stewards a governed Snowflake database, owning the data model, metric definitions, and insight delivery through self-serve and curated formats. You will formalize and build upon the existing data foundation, driving campaign performance reporting, supporting a Salesforce Marketing Cloud migration, and establishing structure like a documented data model and automated quality checks.

Responsibilities

  • Own the data model and metric definitions, documenting and maintaining an authoritative marketing data model.
  • Deliver end-to-end marketing measurement as compelling stories with recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address business problems, identify root causes, and analyze performance.
  • Own lead quality measurement, including MQL definition, lifecycle metrics, and pipeline analysis.
  • Build and manage two distinct delivery channels: self-serve endpoints and curated visuals/digests.
  • Implement a quality layer by sanity-checking numbers and setting up automated validation checks.
  • Build AI-assisted analytics tools by maintaining Marketing’s semantic layer and metric dictionary.
  • Steward the marketing data product layer, owning its content, dependencies, and impact of changes.
  • Represent and advocate for marketing analytics requirements during marketing technology stack evolution.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years in marketing analytics, business analytics, or a closely related field, including B2B funnel experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to move from data to insight to recommendation, influencing business decisions.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with comfort presenting to senior leaders.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex topics using data visualizations.
  • Hands-on fluency with AI tools (Claude, Gemini or similar) for analytical work.
  • Working proficiency in SQL and Tableau.
  • Comfort in a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred).
  • Practical fluency with marketing measurement concepts (attribution, campaign tracking, funnel and lifecycle metrics, lead scoring).
  • Collaborative approach, surfacing overlaps and ambiguity early.
  • Experience building or maintaining semantic layers, metric catalogs, data dictionaries, or self-serve analytics enablement.
  • Exposure to predictive modeling.
  • Experience working as a customer of a central BI or data platform team.

About the Company

  • Twist Bioscience's marketing team runs a sophisticated B2B and e-commerce funnel across Salesforce, Snowflake, and Tableau, with Segment for event tracking and a migration to Salesforce Marketing Cloud under way.
  • Our central Business Intelligence (BI) team owns the data platform - pipelines, uptime, core fact tables - and marketing operates as a customer of that layer.
  • There's a solid data foundation in place and a team that's actively invested in analytics.
  • Life sciences, biotech or scientific-tools experience is a plus.
  • E-commerce analytics, especially mixed B2B and self-serve funnels is a plus.
  • Salesforce ecosystem experience - Salesforce Marketing Cloud especially; Marketo useful given our migration is a plus.
  • Data engineering or pipeline ownership is not required.
  • Product analytics is handled by a separate team.
  • This is an individual contributor (IC) role; you manage the function, not direct reports.
