About the Role

Assistant General Managers at Philz are key members of the store leadership team, overseeing operations, financial results, and team development to ensure an exceptional customer experience and uphold company values.

Responsibilities

Oversee key components of store operations, including staffing levels, food costs, customer experience, and team performance.
Manage food and operations safety standards, run monthly audits, and ensure prompt follow-up.
Ensure a store experience that is in line with Philz core values and standards.
Respond to customer feedback across all channels and take action to improve the store experience.
Coach and evaluate team members, providing feedback and making decisions that support their growth.
Lead the rollout of new initiatives and ensure your team is trained and ready.

Requirements

2–3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced, high-volume food & beverage environment.
1-2 years of experience in people programs such as hiring, training, and coaching team members.
Previous experience in store-level roll outs of promotions and programs.
Experience managing scheduling, inventory, payroll, and compliance.
Strong experience supervising food safety and other risk management programs.
Familiarity with financial controls, including labor and food cost management.
Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Suite.
Schedule flexibility and willingness to work a variety of days and shifts.
Must secure a Food Manager certification OR successfully complete the Philz Coffee Food Manager certification within the first 30 days of employment.
Visual acuity.
Ability to perform bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and extending arms/hands for the majority of the shift.
Ability to remain upright on feet for sustained periods.
Ability to move about on foot to accomplish tasks, including long distances or moving between work sites.
Ability to exert up to 20-40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
