About the Role
Longroad Energy's internship program offers undergraduate students opportunities to explore careers in renewable energy. Selected interns will participate in a 10–12-week summer program featuring onboarding, structured work experience, mentoring, and exposure to various personnel and activities. The Development Intern will support the Development team in advancing utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects through their lifecycle, assisting with schedule management, milestone tracking, reporting, consultant coordination, and data management.
Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance and update of project schedules, milestone trackers, and development work plans across multiple projects.
- Track key permitting, land acquisition, interconnection, and development milestones and assist with reporting on project status.
- Prepare weekly and monthly development reports, project dashboards, and portfolio summaries.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to collect project updates and ensure project information is current and accurate.
- Maintain project records, data repositories, and development documentation in company systems.
- Assist with organizing and tracking mapping requests, project exhibits, and development-related spatial data.
- Help prepare materials and supporting documentation for permitting applications, stakeholder meetings, and internal project reviews.
- Track action items from project meetings and support follow-up coordination with project team members.
- Conduct research and compile information related to project development activities, permitting processes, and local requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of project management, reporting, and document control processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, GIS, Engineering, Environmental, Real Estate, and Transmission groups to support project advancement.
Requirements
- Undergraduate student at a 4-year college
- Preferred major of Environmental Studies, Engineering, Project Management, Business or Energy related major
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Interest in Renewable Energy Industry
- Curiosity
- Self-starter
- Strong written and organizational skills
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Cover letter highly preferred
