About the Role
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) for their Austin, TX (Steiner Ranch Clinic) location. This is an entry-level, part-time position requiring flexibility in hours.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients
- Answer phones
- Patient intake and data entry
- Insurance verification and pre-authorization
- Schedule patient appointments
- Operate the front office of outpatient centers
- Support therapists and therapy assistants
- Daily cash balancing and weekly banking deposits
- Process referrals
- Complete the intake process
- Verify insurance
- Obtain authorizations
- Review benefits with patients
- Collect copays
- Arrive and schedule patients
- Generate billing reports
- Generate closing reports
- Perform other tasks as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be organized, adaptable, and able to work well with others or independently
- Willingness to travel to other locations as needed
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Ability to get things done
Skills
- Customer service experience
- Knowledge of insurance verification
- Healthcare, medical, or dental office administration
