About the Role
St. Ann’s Community is seeking a dedicated part-time Carpenter for St. Ann’s Home. This role is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of the plant and equipment, ensuring facilities are in good working order.
Responsibilities
- Assist with room ready, project, preventive maintenance, and daily work assignments.
- Perform daily assessments of facility conditions and report repair needs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and tasks.
- Assist in updating preventive maintenance procedures.
- Ensure work orders are closed out and data is entered into the management system.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment.
- Involve senior staff for complex equipment issues.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs.
- Paint, plaster, and repair wall finishes.
- Patch floors or walls and install VCT or ceramic floor tile.
- Report progress on tasks and projects.
- Coordinate the accomplishment of goals and expectations.
- Ensure all supporting paperwork is complete and accurate, including time spent, date, parts used, and procedure comments.
- Maintain neat, clean, and orderly work areas, storage areas, and equipment spaces.
- Ensure workspace clearances for equipment are marked and maintained.
- Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and materials for uninterrupted operation.
- Operate rental equipment as needed for installations or repairs.
- Perform tasks involving renovation or refurbishment projects.
- Use safe methods and appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Keep work areas, storage areas, and job sites free from hazards.
- Work on an "On-Call" schedule to meet 24-hour repair needs.
- Perform other requested, assigned, or required tasks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Three (3) years of related experience and/or training in an institutional setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
