About the Role

Econergy is seeking a Senior Analyst to join the Energy Storage team in London. This role focuses on optimizing market monitoring and forecasting, translating insights to support commercial strategies for the company's BESS and co-located portfolio in UK and European markets. The Senior Analyst will collaborate with commercial advisors and internal stakeholders to drive commercial decision-making.

Responsibilities

Analyze asset and portfolio level revenue forecasting and performance, identifying value drivers.
Review hedging strategies and long-term contracting performance, providing recommendations based on forward-looking market analysis.
Monitor power market and regulatory developments, assessing implications for the BESS portfolio.
Serve as a key point of contact for counterparties and commercial advisors, fostering transparent, performance-driven relationships.
Coordinate and challenge external advisors on revenue modeling, trading strategies, and market views.
Support the Energy Storage team in advising engineering and asset management teams to align project design and operating strategies with revenue optimization objectives.
Analyze market and contractual risk, quantify exposures, and translate them into clear, data-driven recommendations.
Provide input into investment cases on optimiser assumptions, trading strategies, and revenue stacks.
Support continuous improvement of data & AI infrastructure, including tools and reporting for performance monitoring.

Requirements

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in modeling and data analysis (e.g., Excel; Python or similar experience is a plus).
Curious and proactive approach with a strong interest in renewable energy and the energy transition.
Proficiency in leveraging AI-enabled tools for enhanced work speed and quality, with a willingness to experiment with new technologies.
Experience in power markets within a trading house, utility, optimiser, consultancy, investment bank, or asset owner.
Proven ability to interpret trading and market data, draw clear conclusions, and communicate them to non-specialist stakeholders.
Experience working with or for optimisers, analytics providers, or trading desks is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a lean, high accountability environment.
