About the Role
The Asset Management Associate (AMA) serves as the central contact for running operations and achieving goals within Lenox’s asset management division. AMAs’ daily duties include liaising with a variety of internal and external parties, and must maintain the highest level of organization and communication skills. They assist new and existing clients with new and existing business across led portfolios, fixed annuities and variable annuities.
Responsibilities
- Assist new clients through the new relationship onboarding process.
- Understand paperwork requirements for new accounts based on investment and account type.
- Connect with clients, Relationship Managers, Asset Managers, Vendors, and MMLISI during the new account onboarding process.
- Act as a liaison between Asset Managers and other business partners to ensure high-quality client service.
- Provide client service including client calls, transaction processing, and accurate CRM recording.
- Respond to inquiries, conduct research, and perform account maintenance.
- Quickly identify complex requests regarding investment accounts, contributions, distributions, policies, and procedures, and escalate when necessary.
- Lead additional deposits and withdrawals from existing accounts, including submission, tracking, and communication.
- Expedite wire transfers, distributions, withdrawals, ACAT’s, portfolio rebalancing, and redemption requests.
- Generate client proposals with direction from Relationship Managers and/or Asset Managers.
- Cultivate a developing understanding of Lenox’s investment programs.
- Assist in updating internal marketing platforms with timely marketing materials.
- Support VP, Operations Manager in special projects.
- Develop relationships with Lenox vendors to facilitate client account maintenance.
- Serve as an operational resource to Relationship Managers conducting Asset Management business without direct Asset Manager involvement.
- Develop expertise in broker-dealer technology for integrating new client accounts and reporting.
- Maintain best-of-breed knowledge on system functionality within various technology platforms.
- Become proficient in evolving custodian technology.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of equity and bond markets, trusts, and laws pertaining to security transfers.
- Basic MOSAIC skills (tasking and arrays).
- Sophisticated MOSAIC proficiencies involving Net Flow Reporting and Running the event process.
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients and Relationship Managers.
- Learn systems & job procedures quickly.
- Craft a way to prioritize workload efficiently and optimally handle job responsibilities.
- Anticipate possible problems and develop contingency plans.
- Quickly identify central or underlying issues in a sophisticated situation.
- Proactive; Self-Starter with the ability to think on their feet.
- View problems as opportunities to improve processes.
- Have a strong sense of urgency about solving problems and getting work done.
